PLEIN AIR

Staying home and spending time outside during the Pandemic of 2020 has spurred on the creation of these plein air creations. They are immediate records of safe and reflective moments I am grateful to have experienced during this unprecedented time in history.

ACRYLICS

Creating casually with acrylics really re-whet my appetite for painting and jump-started my recent full time art journey. See a few of the landscape paintings here.

STILL LIFE

Simple objects from around my rural Pennsylvania home become the subject for these cozy still life creations.

DRAWINGS

For me, sketching and drawing is not just a necessary step to planning for a more in-depth piece, it is a sort of meditation. I find focus and energy in a relaxed state when I'm drawing. Sometimes I like to leave imperfect marks that describe the journey to the completed drawing. Other times, I find it satisfying to work to a finer finish. These pieces take on a certain depth and character that is inline with the essence of my subjects. These are drawings for drawing's sake.
